4 kingdoms is a card and dicegame for 2-4 players.

Each player chooses one army (deck of cards) to battle with.

The game consists of 4 armies, 1 from each rhumb and losely based upon a folk/folklore from that region.

The game offers both strategic play as well as some luck (“luck of the dice”).

The goal is simple: beat your opponents by beating their characters before they beat yours.

Victory points can be adjusted if you prefer longer/shorter games.

4 kingdoms also allready has several expansions to offer more strategic games and depth for advanced/expierenced players.

We have been testing on and off for the past 7 years and are very pleased with the result, we hope you are too!

Characters

The mail cards/element in the game are the character cards, there are soldiers, a king and others such as horseman and merchants. Some expansions contain other characters as well.
Victory points can be gained by defeating your opponent(s) characters.

Tools

Tool cards are part of every army and are used to strengthen your characters, or weaken your opponents characters! Each character can carry/wear a tool which can be things such as a sword, shield, shackles or lantern.

Orders

Orders are the third main cardtype. Orders can be used to strength/weaken or even conquer a character as well as wreck tools (depending on the order).
Orders can also be used to your strategic advance by influecing the dice roll(s) as well as the gamestate.

51 cards per army (204 total)

Each army consists of 51 cards (1 king, 19 soldiers, 9 other characters, 9 tools and 13 spells).
More/other can be added/replaced with the tested and upcoming expansions!

4 dices included

The game uses 2 regular six sided dice as well as 2 custom six sided dice that influence the game by for example triggering card abilities.

60 tokens

The game also comes with 60 strength tokens to keep track off all character strengths whilst they are being influenced by battle and or spells. The game also has 1 day or night tile…

Normally I am not much of card/boardgame player but for me this one is different. It mixes strategy with some luck as well as thinking forward. I like the fact that its quite easy to learn but still provides enough depth to stay interesting! I think this game appeals to a lot of different people and the expansions will make it even more addictive and diverse!

I really like this game. It is fun, it is diverse and it is a good mixture of skill, strategy and luck! We have played it several times now and still discover new cards, or better said: new interactions with those cards in combination with other cards and elements! With the basic rules it is easy to learn and from there it can be turned into much more with advanced rules and or expansions! Trully a must have!

The top left icon (castle, temple etc.) shows which army/faction the card is part of. As mentioned earlier there are 4 different armies, 1 from each rhumb (N,E,S,W).

The number in the square on the left side of the card is only found on characters. It shows their strength. This is always between 1 and 6.

The icon on the top right shows the cardtype. There are 3 cardtypes: characters (helmet), tools (hammer) and spells (book).

On the bottom of the card there can be text area’s. This can vary from 0 (meaning a character has no abilities) to 4 (which is the amount the king has). Tools always have 1 or 2 abilities.

The game can be backed through Kickstarter starting october 1st.
Once succesfully backed it will be shipped as soon as possible.
The first (safehaven) expension can be bought by backing on Kickstarter, others can be bought on the website in a later stadium.

Delivery start

After the Kickstarter campaign the production will start and delivery will follow soon after, expect delivery (hopefully) before the Christmas holidays!

Our Kickstarter campaign starts october 1st.. almost..
Like all other campaigns if it is succesful it will be produced, so if you want a copy help us out buy backing on Kickstarter!
When will the expansions be available?

If the game is succesfully funded on Kickstarter we will invest in producing several expansions straight away.

If you want the first expansion for sure just back that pledge level on Kickstarter and receive it along with the base game!
